Who we are

The Engineer Hongo for President campaign (“the campaign”, “we”) is the data controller for the personal data collected through this website. We handle your information in line with Article 31 of the Constitution of Kenya and the Data Protection Act, 2019.

What we collect

When you join the movement we collect your full name, phone number, county and constituency.

If you subscribe to campaign updates we collect your email address. If you contact us we collect the name, email address and message you send.

Why we collect it

We use your details to contact you about the campaign, organise volunteers and events in your area, send updates you asked for, and respond to your messages.

We rely on your consent, which you give when you submit a form on this site. We do not use your data for any unrelated purpose.

Who can see it

Your details are stored securely and are accessible only to authorised members of the campaign team. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties except service providers who host our systems on our behalf, or where the law requires disclosure.

How long we keep it

We keep supporter details for the duration of the campaign and for a reasonable period afterwards, unless you ask us to delete them earlier.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to be informed of how your data is used, to access the data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to object to processing, to withdraw your consent at any time, and to ask us to delete your data.
